What are Personalization Variables?
Personalization variables are placeholders you add to your email template. When the email sends, SalesTarget.ai replaces each placeholder with the actual data from that prospect's record.

Custom Variables
If the default variables don't cover everything you need, you can create your own Custom Variables — and populate them with any data you want.
Example use cases:
{{pain_point}}— a specific challenge relevant to that prospect's role{{case_study}}— a relevant customer story based on their industry{{icebreaker}}— a personalized opening line researched for each prospect{{mutual_connection}}— a shared contact or connection
How to Create and Use Custom Variables
Go to your campaign and click Edit Sequence.
In the email editor, type
{{to open the variable picker.Click + Create Custom Variable and give it a name.
Save the variable — it will now appear in your variable list.
Add a Fallback Value — this is what gets inserted if the field is empty for a prospect.
Fallback Values — Always Set Them

To set a fallback: click on any variable in the email editor → enter a Fallback Value in the field that appears → Save.
