How to Automate Profile Visits

Profile Visit automation in SalesTarget.ai automatically visits a prospect's LinkedIn profile on your behalf. This triggers a LinkedIn notification to the prospect — telling them that you viewed their profile. Many prospects will then visit your profile back out of curiosity, creating a warm touchpoint before any direct outreach begins.

Why Profile Visits Work

A profile visit is one of the lowest-friction ways to get on a prospect's radar. When someone sees that a relevant person viewed their profile, they're naturally curious — and many will click through to see who you are.

  • No action required from the prospect — they simply receive a notification

  • No character limits or copy to write — profile visits are silent touchpoints

  • High volume possible — you can visit up to 80–100 profiles per day safely

  • Best used as the opening step in any LinkedIn campaign sequence

Step 1: Add a Profile Visit Step to Your Campaign

  1. Open your campaign in LinkedIn Outreach → Campaigns.

  2. In the sequence builder, click Add Step → Profile Visit.

  3. In the step settings, confirm:

    • Timing: Set as Day 1 of the sequence (the first action)

    • Delay after previous step: If this is not the first step, set the delay in days

  4. Click Save Step.

No message copy is needed — the profile visit action runs automatically using your connected LinkedIn account.

Step 2: Position It Correctly in Your Sequence

Profile visits work best at the beginning of a campaign sequence — before any other outreach action. The recommended placement is:

Day 1 → Profile Visit ← Silent touchpoint, gets you on their radar

Day 2 → Follow ← Another soft signal of interest

Day 3 → Post Like ← Warms them up further

Day 4 → Connection Request ← They already know your name by now

By the time your connection request arrives, the prospect has already seen your name 2–3 times. This familiarity significantly improves connection acceptance rates.

How LinkedIn Handles Profile Visit Notifications

Your LinkedIn Account Type

What the prospect sees

Free LinkedIn

Your profile view may show as "LinkedIn Member" (anonymous) to some users

LinkedIn Premium / Sales Navigator

Your full name and profile are always visible to the prospect

Recommendation: For maximum impact from profile visits, use a LinkedIn Premium or Sales Navigator account. If you're on a free account, some prospects may see the visit as anonymous — reducing the warm-up effect.

Tracking Profile Visit Activity

From the Campaign Dashboard, you can see:

  • Profile visits completed — total visits performed by the campaign

  • Profile visit rate — percentage of leads who have been visited so far

  • Prospects who visited back — where LinkedIn data allows, SalesTarget.ai can track when a prospect viewed your profile after you visited theirs
