Co-pilot: Create, Update & Assign Tasks

The Create, Update & Assign Tasks action lets you manage CRM tasks entirely through natural language — creating new tasks, updating existing ones, and assigning or reassigning them to team members, all without opening the CRM manually.

What It Does

Handles all task management actions in your CRM through a single Co-pilot instruction:

  • Create a new task linked to a contact, deal, or date

  • Update an existing task — change due date, description, or status

  • Assign a task to yourself or a team member

  • Mark a task as complete

Creating a Task

  • "Create a task to follow up with Sarah at Acme Corp on Friday"

  • "Add a task — call James from TechCorp next Monday at 10am"

  • "Create a follow-up reminder for the Fintech deal — due Thursday"

  • "Set a task to send a proposal to the Enterprise Accounts lead by end of week"

The Co-pilot will create the task and attach it to the relevant contact or deal record in the CRM.

Updating a Task

  • "Mark the Acme Corp follow-up task as complete"

  • "Change the due date on James's follow-up task to Thursday"

  • "Update the TechCorp callback task — add a note that they're interested in the enterprise plan"

  • "Reschedule the Fintech proposal task to next Tuesday"

Assigning or Reassigning a Task

  • "Assign the Acme Corp follow-up task to Rachel"

  • "Reassign all of Tom's open tasks to Sarah"

  • "Assign this task to me"

  • "Who is currently assigned to the TechCorp deal follow-up task?"

Tips for Creating Accurate Tasks

  • Include the contact or company name so the task is correctly linked to the right CRM record

  • Specify a date or timeframe"by Friday", "next Monday", "in 3 days" — so the due date is set correctly

  • Include the task type where relevant — "call back", "send proposal", "follow up", "send email"

Example of a complete, clear task request:

"Create a task to call back James at TechCorp on Monday morning — he wants to discuss pricing"
